Our History
In January of 2000 Turf Masters Lawn Care was formed by Steve Jordan with one basic concept:
“Do the right thing.”
The company started with a 48” zero turn mower, a trailer, and a 1973 GMC pick-up truck that Steve’s cousin gave him. For two years the company serviced residential customers only.
In March of 2002 the company got its first commercial customer and started to see signs of growth. In the spring of 2004 an Irrigation Division was started and the company quickly hired qualified professionals to provide that service.
In early 2005 Turf Masters Lawn Care was incorporated in the state of Mississippi, and in August of 2005 Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Mississippi gulf coast. There was so much opportunity in the wake of devastation, many lawn care companies got into construction, debris hauling, etc., anything to make a dollar. Steve decided to remain a grounds maintenance and irrigation company providing those core services to our clients using the founding concept “Do the right thing.”
In 2007 a Turf and Shrub Division and a Hardscapes division was added to offer these services to our clients. Today Turf Masters has a 6500 sq. ft. warehouse, a fleet of 12 vehicles, and the most professional grounds maintenance workforce on the Gulf Coast operating on the founding concept “Do the right thing.”
